What is the role of the Resolutions Committee?

The Resolutions Committee is appointed by the NSNA President with Board approval.  This committee reviews all resolutions submitted in order to ensure workable implementation before resolutions are presented to the House of Delegates.  Specifically, the committee edits, rewrites, or combines resolutions; consults with the makers of the resolutions; and rejects those resolutions that are considered unfeasible; submitted after the deadline or duplicate existing NSNA policies.

​All NSNA state and school constituents may submit one resolution  to be considered by the NSNA House of Delegates during the Annual Convention.

​RESOLUTIONS DEADLINE

The January 15, 2025 deadline is firm based upon NSNA policies (with exception of some state associations with conventions after the deadline.

​Resolutions submitted cannot duplicate resolutions that have been adopted by the NSNA House of Delegates over the previous 5 years.  Resolutions adopted from 5-10 years prior can be re-affirmed by the House of Delegates or updated, and should include the original resolution as supporting documentation and identified in the first whereas clause.​

Virtual Resolutions Hearings
Monday, March 24 and Tuesday, March 25 from 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm EDT 
Have your voice heard as you advocate for patients, nursing education, healthcare, and the nursing profession. Resolutions give students the opportunity to learn from one another while impacting the nursing profession. By attending the Resolutions Hearings, nursing students have the chance to share their opinions with not only fellow students, but also multiple healthcare organizations, congress and the public. In short, debating and voting on resolutions is your chance to make an impact on the nursing profession!
