What is the Role of the NSNA President?The NSNA President serves as the principal officer of the association and presides at all meetings; responsible for seeing that direction given by the House of Delegates and the actions of the Board are carried into effect; appoints committees and their chairpersons with the approval of the Board; serves as an ex-officio member of all committees, except the Nominating and Elections Committee; serves as ex-officio member of the Foundation of the NSNA Board of Trustees and represents NSNA.

We have made it through another year. It may not have been easy, but as we continue making our way forward, we can see our resilience. Each year will come with its own challenges, and it is also an opportunity to make a difference. We are learning to become healthcare professionals who will have the ability to impact the lives of others daily, but we can start making a difference today. Congratulations to the graduating class of winter 2022! You have made it through nursing school. I’m sure there were points through your educational journey where you didn’t think the end goal was possible, but you have proven that it was. As you transition into the workforce have the attitude of a lifelong learner. The nursing field is one that is constantly evolving and there are always people who you can learn from. For those of us who are still in the thick of it, keep working hard, we are almost there! In the past few months, I had the pleasure of meeting many of you at the NSNA MidYear Conference in Virginia Beach, Virginia in November. I also attended the Nursing Organizations Alliance Fall Summit where leaders from major nursing organizations and specialty nursing organizations gathered in Des Moines, Iowa to share ideas and learn from one another.
