What is the Role of the Ethics and Governance Committee? The committee is responsible for implementing resolutions passed by the HOD related to ethics and governance; engaging members in the Code of Ethics; assisting chapters to submit amendments to the Code of Ethics; guiding chapters with bylaws, policies and procedures; reviewing NSNA’s policies bylaws and procedures when related issues arise.
It was a privilege to meet many of you during the Mid-Year Conference in Louisville, KY, this past November. At the conference, I co-hosted a session with our parliamentarian, Lola Fehr, MS, RN, CAE PRP, FAAN, where we reviewed the NSNA Code of Ethics and Bylaws. The COSP meeting featured outstanding presentations and inspiring stories from nurse leaders across the country. It was especially rewarding to see the dedication of states working to retain constituency status—a testament to the commitment and perseverance of so many of you.
Over the past months, I’ve had the opportunity to talk with several of you about your chapter’s bylaws, policies, and the responsibilities that come with maintaining them. If you have questions about updating your chapter’s documents to align with NSNA Bylaws, or if you need guidance on delegates’ roles, Robert’s Rules of Order, or the Code of Ethics, don’t hesitate to email me at [email protected]. As we approach the Annual Convention, I’m here to support you in any way I can. Read full Spring 2025 Memo here ... |
