What is the Role of the Membership Committee?The Membership Committee is responsible for increasing membership, retaining members, and developing new member benefits.
Meet Matthew Zender:
Matthew is a senior at the Stony Brook School of Nursing and is expected to graduate in May 2025. He has been involved in NSNA ever since he was a freshman. He started his journey as the Stony Brook Nursing Scholar’s Representative. He then went on to be the Genesee Valley Regional Director for the Nursing Student Association of New York State (NSANYS). He also held other positions in NSANYS including Vice President and was most recently served as President for the past two terms. While being NSANYS President, he sat on the Council of State Presidents (COSP) for both the 41st Annual Midyear Conference in San Diego and the 72nd Annual Conference in Orlando. He also served on the Stony Brook Student Nurses’ Association Board of Directors as a Co-Community Health Director. Besides being a part of NSNA, Matthew is a volunteer with his college’s chapter of Project Sunshine and volunteers at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital. He is a Division One sports photographer for Stony Brook Athletics. Matthew also likes going to the beach, watching sunsets, hanging out with friends, playing videogames, and riding his bike. After graduation, Matthew would like to go into pediatric oncology and help children battling cancer. |
