Cody Mitchell, Director and Chair, Membership Committee, Summer MemoHappy Summer NSNA!
The Membership Committee is off to a fantastic start for the 2023-2024 season! This memo serves as an update of the plans and goals we have established as well as this year’s membership theme which ties in perfectly with NSNA’s core values and mission. Our goal is always to ensure that your NSNA membership is as valuable and enriched as your overall experience with the organization. This goes for every member, new and returning. I have the pleasure of working with two amazing members of the Board and I am proud to introduce the individuals who will be helping me make our visions into reality! Aside from myself, MacKenzie Simmons (Image of Nursing Committee, Chair) and Ryan Fox (Ex-Officio, Chair, Council of State Presidents) form the rest of the Membership Committee and have already brought a lot of wonderful ideas to the table for this year! As for this year’s theme, we wanted to focus on ways NSNA helps pave the way for success for all of our members. We believe that NSNA provides nursing students with many opportunities, and it is our mission to help students realize those opportunities and utilize them. In addition, we would like to increase student participation in conferences and conventions, and retention of members; and assist in the development and maintenance of active school chapters and state associations by increasing their involvement in NSNA. By doing this we aim to make sure everyone is aware of what NSNA membership entails, the benefits, and opportunities available, and foster a warm and welcoming culture for our members. We have set two primary goals that we need your help to accomplish before the convention in spring. In order to reach these goals, the membership committee plans to engage more with our members and address organizational needs on state and local levels. Read More |
