Student Nurses' Beyond BordersHello NSNA members! I hope you are all doing well! It is officially spring and the semester is coming to an end so I wish you all luck in your final exams!
The Global Initiatives in Nursing Committee will be hosting a session at the 2017 NSNA Annual Convention on Wednesday, April 5th from 1:15PM-2:15PM. The question is how can we work toward a solution regarding this complex issue as future health care providers? The first step is through education and awareness about human tracking in the United States. To learn more about the specifics regarding this topic, please visit: https://www.unodc.org/unodc/en/human-trafficking/what-is-human-trafficking.html Have you heard of the Polaris Project? This is an organization that combats human, labor, and sex trafficking across the US. To learn more about this organization and how you can spot the signs of human trafficking as a nursing professional, please check out: https://polarisproject.org/recognize-signs This past year, this committee focused on global health issues like Zika Virus, global volunteer opportunities, human trafficking, and working with NSNA members to develop global nursing initiatives and programs in their chapters.
