We are pleased to announce that our new year is now underway. School is starting again and the Nominating and Elections Committee (NEC) is now working at full steam. We are so excited for what is to come! This year we are asking for your help. There are four members on the NEC and that is no where near enough to recruit all of those wonderfully talented individuals that we know exist out there. You on the other hand do. We want you to look inside yourselves to see if you think you have what it takes to become one of tomorrow’s NSNA Leaders. We also want you to encourage others you know, not to fear the road less traveled and accept that challenge of running for NSNA office!

We want you to know about the benefits of preslating for office. Since the deadline is January 8, 2008, which is much earlier this year, preslating will put you at a serious advantage. As a preslated candidate, you have the opportunity to be properly credentialed, campaign prior to convention, and arrive in Grapevine, TX thoroughly prepared and ready for your time to shine in the spotlight! With the deadline for the applications being much earlier this year, we want you to have all of the information you need in order for you to make your decision. We are currently working on adapting our website to accommodate you with all the necessary information needed to run, but until our website is complete, here is an option to get you started.

Visit the NSNA web site at www.nsna.org for the information such as roles and responsibilities for NSNA elected officials (located under the Elected Officials tab) and see if any of the positions may serve as stepping stones in your path to the wonderful world of nursing!

Also PLEASE feel free to contact any of the NEC members at anytime we will be more than happy to answer any of your questions about running for office, or even if you are simply just interested in more information.
